WestWorld and Earth to Sky Productions are offering two training courses for users of Apple's Final Cut editing software in January. Both courses will be taught by Duane E. Martin, with more than four years FCP teaching experience as well as being a professional editor.

Final Cut Crash Course

- A 3 hour, one day intensive crash course for new (or struggling) users of Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro. The course is intended to provide participants with an overview of the editing workflow, and give a serious head-start through the steep learning curve of these Pro Apps. Discussion will include a list of the 10 most common mistakes made by new users, and how to avoid them. You bought the software, now get started seriously using it! January 20th, 1030 - 1400; cost $100.

Introduction to Final Cut Pro

- A 3 day course (18 hours class time) of hands-on training intended to take students into the editing environment using Final Cut Pro 5.1 (FCP). The course is designed for those who want to gain a professional working knowledge of FCP and participants will learn to effectively take a project from concept to completion. Basic knowledge of computer operation and the Macintosh operating system is highly recommended. January 22-24, 0900 - 1600 daily; cost $700 ($500 if you supply your own computer with FCP 5.1.x installed). Cost includes Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro manual.
