FINAL CUT SERVER - LEARN HOW IT CAN HELP YOU
Ian Procter, an independent consultant, amateur photographer / videographer and a member of the Apple Consultant Network for 3 years will present Final Cut Server and how it can work for your organization. Ian assists photographers and video editors with their workflow with Aperture and Final Cut Pro - as well as the infrastructure design and setup. As a Business Analyst he helps companies map out their existing workflows - and their to-be workflows. Depending upon the content he assists organizations in setting up these workflows in Aperture or Final Cut Server. Ian will offer real-world experience and examples of setting up Final Cut Server in a major organization's communication department - Nexen.
He also assist other companies with setting up the Mac Clients and Servers to enable them to have VPN remote access and setup Mac and Windows filesharing and both inhouse and offsite backup strategies. <http://www.procter-consulting.com>

Whether you are an editor, special effects artist, sound designer, web developer, producer, or a teacher in multimedia, this training will help you expand your skills in one of the premiere video editing solutions available – Final Cut Pro.
This three-day course takes students into the editing environment using Final Cut Pro 7 (FCP). Topics include setting up Mac OS X for FCP, basic FCP setup for different editing environments, editing and trimming techniques, the range of tools available for fine tuning edits and adding basic effects, customizing preferences and settings for projects, capturing video and audio, to final output. The course is designed for those who want to gain a professional working knowledge of Final Cut Pro. Participants will learn to effectively take a project from concept to completion. The course does require a good working knowledge of computer operation and the Macintosh operating system. The course is suitable for any user who has never taken a professional course in Final Cut Pro, regardless of the number of years experience using the application; the course content is challenging and the pace intensive.
Course costs – $800 (includes use of FCP 7 work-station for each participant and Apple Pro Training Series manual);
Special Rate: If you supply your own computer with FCP 7 installed (all Final Cut Studio 3 preferred) you are eligible for a reduced rate of $600 (save $200!). Participants providing their own computer are entirely responsible for its functioning and security.
Course Dates and Times – Next course Dates February 22nd to 24th, 2010. The class starts promptly at 9am and finishes at 4pm, with one hour for lunch. The classroom will remain open until 5pm for those who want extra practice or to ask questions beyond the course.
The Instructor – Duane E. Martin is a professional editor who has worked on numerous award-winning productions (Heartland, Fish Out of Water, The Secret of the Nutcracker, Chicks with Sticks) in formats ranging from DV, to film, to HD. It is his practical working knowledge and professional experience in the current environment of non-linear editing that makes this course unique. Duane is also an Apple Certified Trainer of Final Cut Pro and has been teaching FCP as an Apple Certified Trainer since 2002.
