Many of you will be shooting with SDHC Memory Cards. But how does one store them. I have several and the manufactures have not designed a storage container.
So I have found that after eating my "tic-tac" sweets I take the plastic tops off and then store the cards in them with a small label telling me what is on them. Works a treat.

Hey Frank, that sounds like a creative solution. I know a company that puts the cards into small envelopes that they label and then put into a recipe card box. Myself, I back-up the cards to a hard drive so I can use the cards again, but of course anyone who has had a hard drive fail knows this isn't really a long term solution. LTO is probably the best long-term solution possibly followed by keeping the cards. If you were to shoot a couple hundred cards a year the economics of LTO would be compelling.

Manufacturers suggest a life span of 10-15 years for SD cards, but I was not able to confirm that meant data would be retained for 10 years or the card would simply still work. DVDs have an equal or less life expectancy. LTO is rated for 15-30 years, but keep in mind the LTO-1 cartridge you recorded in 2000 cannot be read in a current LTO-6 device so you need to keep the cartridge and a playback mechanism.

Turns out good-old-fashioned film has the last laugh on this one, eh?

Yes people who use many cards, my solution would not help. But people in my section or going on a shoot and need to store them short term would help.
Talking about film. Got me projector out and watched one of my old FUJI 8 film. Still crisp and clear. Also i looked very smart.
