TOPIC: OSX 10.6.4 won't recognise my Sony HDR-FX1E

Camera Versions 7 years, 4 months ago #22425

Does the problem exist only on the E version of the camera and that is why the problem is not more widely reported?

I am not sure. This is why I have requested feedback from other HDR-FX1 camera owners, and asked them to test it on FireWire 800 ports running OSX 10.6.4.

I bought my camera when they were first released, so i suspect later versions would have better firmware.

Problem SOLVED !!!! 7 years, 4 months ago #22443

I plugged a Firewire 9 To 6 Pin IEEE 1394a-b 800-400 Adapter cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170541053968&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT into the back of the iMac and then used my old FireWire 400 cable to connect it to my camera.

The camera now appears in the System Profiler under FireWire and I have successfully captured HDV 1080i footage in FCP 6 !!!!
